Ambili offers to make film with Azhikode in the lead

Thrissur, Feb.27 (NR): Strange are the ways of the film industry! How else would you explain a director offering an orator the lead role in his film, only because the latter has got involved in one of the hottest controversies the industry has witnessed till date?

Director Ambili has made a proclamation that if Azhikode agreed, he was willing to make a film with Sukumar Azhikode in the lead.

He was speaking at a meeting organized by the supporters of Thilakan at Thrissur Natyagriha.

Ambili also said that good films would be made only when the super-stardom that had destroyed the mature film sensibility in the state would end.

It is the superstars who decide the director of a film. They don't even have the right to garland Prem Nazir's photograph. It is these superstars who have banned Thilakan, Ambili said.

Ambili has directed films like Veena Poovu, Ashtapadi, Gaanamela, Eagle and Samudayam.
