AMMA goes soft on Thilakan; offers him another chance

Trivandrum, Mar.8 (NR): The Executive Committee of AMMA has gone soft on actor Thilakan, and has decided to offer him one more chance to give an explanation.

The decision of the Executive Committee was made clear by the AMMA General Secretary Mohanlal at a press conference here.

AMMA has not specified a date for Thilakan to offer an explanation; rather it was stated that two week's time would be provided.

Mohanlal said that AMMA was striving to bring Thilakan back into its fold. AMMA has already received a letter of explanation from Thilakan, but its impossible to take a decision based on the letter in so short a time. Nobody in AMMA has any personal issues with Thilakan; but an association has to move forward according to its rules and regultions, Mohanlal said.

A representative of AMMA is even willing to go and meet Thilakan, if the actor so desires. Thilakan would also be issued a new letter based on the decisions taken by the Executive Committee. Mohanlal also said that if being ousted from 'Christian Brothers' is Thilakan's main issue, it was a very common one. The director holds the right not to include an actor in his film, even after the shoot of the film has started.

Other representatives of AMMA, along with the President of the association Innocent took part in the press conference.
