Anoop Chandran - second time lucky!

Anoop Chandran, who had been shining in supporting roles, in films like Achuvinte Amma, Classmates, Rasathanthram etc, turns hero with Raman, directed by Dr. Biju of Saira fame. Very few people know that this is not the first time that Anoop is doing the lead role. In fact he had made his very debut as the lead player in a film directed by no less a director than T.K. Rajeev Kumar. The film, Sundari, with Geethu Mohandas and Anoop Chandran in lead roles, however didn't get to be finished and no news is heard about it any longer. The result being that Anoop Chandran resorted to limiting himself to supporting roles, some of them notable ones.


And now, this young actor is all set to make his presence felt as a hero with Raman, a film that deals with some social issues. Anoop plays the title role, that of Raman, a dumb person who assists and depends very much on the owner of a tea-shop. The film focuses on issues like globalization, the U.S-led invasion of Iraq etc in a very sensitive manner. Avanthika Sarkar, U.S-based stage artist does the female lead role. Produced under the banner of Chandrika Films, Raman is already through with its first schedule of shooting in Kerala and is all set to pass on to the second leg of the shoot, to be held in Rajasthan.
