Buddhadeb Dasgupta to make his first Malayalam film

Cochin, Nov.15 (NR): Renowned Bengali film maker Buddhadeb Dasgupta is planning his first film in Malayalam.

Buddhadeb had expressed to direct a Malayalam film even earlier. His first Malayalam film would be scripted by Aryadan Shoukath who had earlier scripted the critically acclaimed film Paadham Onnu: Oru Vilaapam.

Its learned that Buddhadeb and Aryadan would create a political film together. The shooting of the film would be completed before March next year.

Buddhadeb is known for films like Bagh Bahadur, Tahader Katha, Charachar and Uttara. Five of his films have won the National Film Award for Best Film, Bagh Bahadur (1989), Charachar (1993) , Lal Darja (1997),Mondo Meyer Upakhyan (2002) and Kaalpurush (2008), while Dooratwa (1978) and Tahader Katha (1993) have won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali.
