Chackochan to revamp Udaya Studios
Dec 1, 2007 NRKunchacko Boban, more popularly known as Chackochan, who became a teenage-sensation with his blockbuster debut Aniyaththipraavu, has not been in focus for quite some time. He has not been doing films for quite a while, and had almost been signed off after a series of flops. But Chackochan is not someone to sit idle for so long a time, especially since he is someone who has inherited a legacy of filmmaking from his grand-dad and his dad.
His grandfather the Late Kunchacko, who established the Udaya Studios, passed it on to son Boban Kunchacko, who too is no more and now Chackochan gets ready to do all that he can to keep the tradition alive. Chackochan is all set to revive the Udaya banner and produce a film, reportedly with Mammootty in lead role. The film, which is to be scripted and directed by debutante Ashique Abu, will have Mammootty donning the khaki once again, playing a police officer with a passion for cricket. Though more details are awaited, it's learnt that the film will be shot in Kochi, in a single schedule.
