'Chattambi Kalyani' title dropped after Thampi cries foul!

Cochin, Dec.17 (NR): It was reported recently that T S Saji was planning a film called 'Chattambi Kalyani' with Urvasi in the lead role.

Sreekumaran Thampi, on hearing the news had strongly reacted through a film magazine, and had said that he has the rights to the title, and also that he was planning a remake of the original film that starred Sheela.

Thampi also made it clear that if T S Saji was planning to go ahead with the film, he would have no other option but to approach a court to prohibit the use of the title.

T S Saji, on hearing about what Thampi had to say, has said that he has always considered Tampi to be a mentor, and would do nothing to hurt him. He said, that he had thought of the title, because his daughter was named Kalyani.

"My film would have nothing to do with the original 'Chattambi Kalayani'. However, since Thampi sir has expressed his displeasure over my using the title, I would definitely not use it," Saji concluded.
