Chettayees inspires me to think of novel subjects: Shajoon Kariyal

Sep 12, 2012 NR

Shajoon Kariyal in an interview revealed that his new venture ‘Chettayees’, with a humorous touch, has given him new energy to hunt for new subjects with varied patterns. He adds that he is so excited to experience the tremendous support extended to him by the whole crew, the whole unit of ‘Chettayess’ is working like one big family, enjoying- relishing each and every moment of the shooting schedule.

Kariyal’s earlier film ‘Vadakkumnathan’ was an aesthetically well-made, unusual love story which was commercially successful. As it dealt with a serious subject, from then on he was planning to produce something different, a light movie, and he even landed up along with late Mr Gireesh Puthencheri into a subject and started working on it but his untimely demise shelved the project half way.

He admits that now his long wait for a good subject has not gone in vain when writer Sachi came up with this humorous story of five friends. The five friends (actor Biju Menon, actor Suresh Krishna, cinematographer P Sukumar, Sachi and Shajoon Kariyal) decided to produce it themselves, through their production company 'Thakkali Films’.
