'Classmates' proves a musical hit too

Kochi, Oct 5 (IANS) "Classmates" can be described as a true musical hit as all the songs of the film are lapped up by music lovers.

The top five Malayalam songs are:

1. "Entekalbile" - Film: "Classmates"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Sujatha and Vineeth Sreenivasan. The kind of popularity this song has achieved is just amazing. The lyrics gel with the situation in the film.

2. "Kaattaadi" - Film: "Classmates"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Vidhu Prathap, Reju Joseph, Ramesh Babu and Cicily. This is a song depicting the campus years. The film is a hit with college students as well as grown-ups because it plays on the feelings of nostalgia and the music has played a major part in this.

3. "Chandirane" - Film: "Mahasamudram"; Music: M. Jayachandran; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singer: Alex. Mohanlal and Rahman dancing to the tunes of Jayachandran - the fans could not have asked more.
