'Currency' rolls

Currency, directed by debutante Swathi Bhaskar and produced under the banner of Indo-star Movie Magic, has started rolling in and around Kochi.


The film has Mukesh and Jayasurya playing key roles, with Meera Nandan (of Mulla fame) donning the female lead role. Mukesh plays Danny D'souza, an Anglo-Indian who has the hobby of collecting antiques, while Jayasurya plays Keshava Menon alias Keshu, a tailor.


Kalabhavan Mani also plays a key role in the film, which has in the cast Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Siddique, and Mamookoya among others.


Scripted by Swathi Bhaskar himself, Currency will have songs penned by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma, Jofi Tharakan and Santhosh Varma and set to tune by Siddharth Bipin. Viswamangal Kitsu is in charge of cinematography, while Gireesh Menon does the art-direction and Manoj the editing.


Currency is scheduled to be completed in a single schedule and is likely to hit the screens in time for Onam.
