Debjyothi Mishra to work with Blessy
Jun 7, 2007 NRDirector Blessy, who is currently all set to begin shoot for his new films Calcutta News, has replaced Mohan Sithara, who had composed music for Blessy's Kaazhcha, Thanmathra and Palunku, with Debjyothi Mishra, a Salil Chowdhury protege from Bengal. Debjyothi Mishra, who has composed music for films like Gehra Pani (directed by Abhigyan Jha and Abhiyaan Rajhans), Raincoat (directed by Rituparno Ghosh), Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (directed by Govind Nihalani) etc, is setting to tune songs penned by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma.
The well-acclaimed music director has composed six songs for the film, which include a Bengali song and he is also scoring the background music. The film also uses lines from Tagore's Geetanjali and some lines penned by the late P. Bhaskaran. Blessy says that music in Calcutta News will be integral to the theme and it is in this context that the inclusion of Debjyothi Mishra had become imperative. Let's hope that the people of Kerala, who still love to hum tunes composed by Salilda, will accord a warm welcome to Debjyothi Mishra too.
