Debutante Malayalee directs Hindi film
Jun 26, 2009 NRCochin, June.26 (NR): Here comes a Hindi movie with a debutant Malayalee director. 'Deen', produced by the National Film Development Corporation, has new bee R.S. Pradeep Kumar at the helm of affairs. The script too will be penned by a Malayalee - T.A. Razack who in fact is one of the leading scenarists in Malayalam.
Razack, who had scripted movies like 'Raapakal', 'Vesham' etc, bases the script for the Hindi movie on the real-life story of Umraana, the Muslim girl from Uttar Pradesh who was raped by her father-in-law. While Bollywood's evergreen Kajol will be playing the lead role, cricketer Saurav Ganguli will also be playing a key role. Many leading Bollywood stars too will be there in the cast. The film is likely to start rolling in August.
