Trivandrum, May 31 (IANS): It has been a long gap for National Award-winning director Shyamaprasad since his last venture, "Agnisaakshi".

The film, based on a famous novel by Lalithambika Antharjanam and starring Shobhana and Hindi actor Rajat Kapoor, won him several national and international awards.

He has made a comeback with an unusual cinematic creation, the English film "Bokshu, The Myth".

Shot extensively in Humpi, besides Los Angeles, it stars Irfan Khan and Nobel laureate Amartya Sen's daughter Nandana. The film has not had an international release yet.

Shyamaprasad has also made a Malayalam film, "Akale", with just four characters. The film is inspired by Tennessee Williams' play "Glass Menagerie".

He has transplanted the story into Kannur in Kerala and the characters are Anglo-Indians.

Sheela, who has made a grand comeback to filmdom this year, plays an ageing mother, Margaret D'Costa. Prithviraj and Geetu Mohandas play her son and daughter. It is a challenging role for the 22-year-old Prithviraj who goes from age 21 to 45 in the film.
