Film Chamber to issue showcause notice to M G Sreekumar

Cochin, Apr.9 (NR): The Film Chamber has decided to issue a show cause notice against singer M G Sreekumar who had protested yesterday against the Chamber's decision.

The Film Chamber meeting had earlier demanded that stars including actors and singers should refrain from taking part in programmes on TV. These programmes include reality shows and other stage shows hosted by private groups.

If the singer is not able to provide sufficient reason for his statements, the Chamber might decide to issue a ban on him.

The notice would be issued on Friday evening.

M G Sreekumar had said that since its difficult to live from the remuneration that he gets from singing in films, he would consider quitting playback singing, if the Chamber decision was put into practice.
