Those who know Geethu Mohandas won't be surprised with the news that she is all set to turn director. Geethu had made her entry in Malayalam Cinema as a child artist. During her student days in Canada, she was very much associated with the stage and had been part of many stage plays, based on the writings of eminent playwrights.

She had also proved herself a sensible and sensitive actress. So, the transition from acting to direction is but natural for someone as talented as Geethu.

Geethu's debut directorial venture, the 30-minute long 'Kelkkunnundo', starts rolling at Aluva on the 12th of March. The film, which is scripted by Geethu herself, discusses issues like urbanization and related problems, and is told from the perspective of a four-and-a-half year old blind girl, Ammu, played by debutante Hasna. The cast comprises mostly of debutantes, some of them having their moorings in theatre. Rajiv Ravi is in charge of cinematography. It's also heard that Geethu is to direct a Hindi film after finishing 'Kelkkunnundo'. All the best, Geethu.
