I have become selective, says Murali
Jan 12, 2007 IANSThiruvananthapuram, Jan 12 (IANS) National award winning Malayalam film actor Murali says he will be seen fewer times on the silver screen henceforth because he has become selective on roles.
"I really can't digest several of the films which are being made today because it is really testing the patience of many. So I decided I will be selective," Murali told IANS on the sidelines of a function here.
Murali has acted in close to 230 films in his long career spanning nearly 25 years.
"I would prefer to do roles which are meaningful and send out a message to the viewer and not engage in some drab run of the mill roles, which really makes no sense," said the veteran.
Being selective appears to have taken a toll. In the current year so far he has signed just one contract, with director Sathyan Anthikad.
"I know being selective means very few roles but that is my decision and I am happy with what I get and I can do justice (to what I get)," said Murali.
