Trivandrum, Dec.6 (NR): The International Film festival of Kerala, that is hosted every year at the capital city, has over the years emerged as one of the most prestigious Film festivals held across the globe.

With an ever increasing audience participation year after year, IFFK is often considered to be a film lover's haven.

Every year, the signature film of the Festival is eagerly anticipated by the delegates. The last few years, there has been a whole lot of criticism being hurled at the Signature film makers. There have even been instances when Signature films have been repeatedly booed at by viewers, show after show.

The signature film serves more as an icon for the films being screened at the fest, and as such the film maker shoulders a huge responsibility in conveying the spirit of the fest.

IFFK 2010 would have a signature film that has been created by Toonz Animation India and which has been titled as 'Dreams', that was unveiled the other day at Kalabhavan.

The signature film created by the Toonz team has wowed the audience, and starts off under a vibrantly hued lily pond from where it gradually emerges into a kaleidoscopic world of imagination where pandas and hornbills take flight. Along comes a swarm of butterflies that take to the moon and in the very next moment fill up the screen with their checkered wings and finally end up as dazzling specks on the IFFK logo Lankalekshmi. The film draws to a close with the flapping of the wings of the Crow Pheasant that flies across it.

With an admirable background score that sets the right rhythm of things to come, there is no doubt that IFFK 2010 has come up with one of the best signature films in recent years.

And with an auspicious start as this, cinephiles who have started flocking to the state capital to be a part of the festival that starts this Friday, are all optimistic about the films that would be screened this year as well.
