I'll quit singing for films if the Film Chamber decision is put into practice: M G Sreekumar
Apr 8, 2010 NRTrivandrum, Apr.8 (NR): Famous playback singer M G Sreekumar said that he would consider quitting playback singing, if the Film Chamber decision is put into practice.
The Film Chamber meeting today demanded that stars including actors and singers should refrain from taking part in programmes on TV. These programmes include reality shows and other stage shows hosted by private groups.
"I feel some idle mind is behind these decisions. I will decide not to sing in films anymore, if this comes into practice. Or else I should be given a chance to sing in all the films that are released a year. I have sung just four songs this year and have got just twenty five thousand rupees as my fee. Its impossible for me to live an entire year with this money," Sreekumar said.
"I don't know how they plan to put this decision into practice. I'm a singer, and I can live only through singing. The public knows that I can sing well, and hence I would live by singing on television channels and other programmes," Sreekumar added.
