Indians in Qatar make film on how to treat parents
Mar 23, 2011 IANSDoha (Qatar), March 23 (IANS) The Indian community from the state of Kerala residing in Qatar will release a movie about the importance of supporting one's parents in their old age.
The Malayalam film "Nanama Niranja Umma" (Virtues of a Mother) focuses on how some people ill-treat their aged parents, Gulf News reported citing the Qatar Tribune.
Ashraf Peringadi, the director, said the purpose was to draw people's attention to the way some parents were being treated.
K.M. Varghese, president of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) said there were many challenges in producing a film in Qatar, but hoped the movie would be a huge success.
Parts of the movie were shot in Kerala.
Actors in the film include Tony, Shanthakumari, Neenakurup, V.V. Prakash, Alikkoya, Musthafa and Prakash Payyanakkal.
