Jagathy blasts Mukesh over Sangeetha Nadaka Academy Controversy

Cochin, Feb.3 (NR): Actor Jagathy Sreekumar has spoken against Mukesh, Chairman of the Sangeetha Nadaka Academy.

What has annoyed Jagathy is the Academy's decision to award its first honor to Badal Sarkar, Bengal's renowned theater artiste.

"I have nothing against Badal Sarkar. He is one of the most famous artistes in West Bengal. But the aim of the Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy should be to encourage artists from Kerala," Jagathy said.

"I dont believe that the award was decided without the Chairman's knowledge. If that is so, then why should Mukesh hesitate from reacting to it?" Jagathy asked in an interview given to a prominent magazine.

Mukesh is yet to respond to the controversy.
