Jayaram's next project: adaptation of Basheer's Shabdangal

Director Priyanandan is planning to adapt Vaikom Muhammed Basheer’s novel Shabdangal into a film. Produced by Jagadish Chandran under the banner Kichu Films, the untitled movie stars Jayaram and Manoj K Jayan in lead roles.

Scripted by N Sasidharan and Priyanandan, the film will go on floors in September and the locations include Kannur, Kasargod, Kochi, and Mumbai.

The novel Shabdangal talks about war, hunger, orphanhood, disease, and prostitution in the form of a dialogue between a soldier and a writer.
