K.K. Rajeevs Chembakaraman : Mammootty and Kavya to lead
Oct 23, 2007 NRK.K. Rajeev, who is popular among television viewers as the director of many hit serials, most of them well-made ones too, had announced the making of a film a couple of years back. But nothing happened and the project was reportedly shelved. But now, K.K. Rajeev is all set to make his debut in cinema with Chembakaraaman, which will have Mammootty in the lead role.
The film, which is reported to be planned as a family thriller, will have Kavya Madhavan opposite Mammootty for the first time. Of course this is not the first time that Kavya is acting along with Mammootty. As a child artiste she had acted with him in Azhagiya Ravanan and Oraal Mathram and later, as a grown-up star, she had acted alongside Mammookka in Aparichithan. But this is the first time that she will be playing heroine to the mega-star.
Kavya was supposed to do the female lead in Nazrani, but she didn't do it and the character was eventually given to Vimala. And now, if things work out well, Kavya will play heroine to Mammootty for the first time in Chembakaraaman, which is most likely to start rolling in November. (She is also reportedly playing Mammootty's heroine in Padmakumar's film, which of course will take off only in December).
Though more details regarding Chembakaraaman are awaited, it is learnt that Vijayaraghavan would be doing a key role in the film, which will be shot in Thiruvananthapuram. It will be Mammootty's first release in 2008 and will be produced by Shahul Hameed Marikkar and Anto Joseph under the banner of Marikkar Films.
