Kalabhavan Mani rules the charts

Kochi, June 18 (IANS) Kalabhavan Mani makes to the top of music charts with his rendering of "Sona Sona" in "Ben Johnson".

The top five Malayalam songs are:

1. "Sona Sona" - Film: "Ben Johnson"; Music: Deepak Dev; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singers: Kalabhavan Mani and Shubha. An accomplished singer with a proven track record, Mani gives what his fans love.

2. "Munthiri Padam" - Film: "Kochi Rajavu"; Music: Vidyasgar; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthenchery; Singers: Udit Narayan and Sujatha. The song still has the audience swaying to its beat.

3. "Chenthamaraye Vaa" - Film: "Taskaraveeran"; Music: Ouseppachan; Lyrics: Rajendran MD; Singer: Madhu Balakrishnan. Mammootty films are not generally known for their music. But, in recent times, the situation has changed. There are at least a couple of catchy numbers in every film. This is an addition to the list of such films.

4. "Karppaka Malare" - Film: "Thommanum Makkalum"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singers: Afsal, Madhu Balakrishnan, Pradeep Palluruthy, Vipin and Savitha Krishnamoorty. This song is still a huge draw with the audience.

5. "Muttathethum" - Film: "Chandrolsavam"; Music: Vidyasgar; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthenchery; Singer: K.J. Yesudas. This film is a true musical hit. Its music refuses to fade out even while the film failed to do well at the box office.
