"Thee Nagar": Karan had signed for this film before "Karuppasami...." The story is a real life incident which occurred when debutant director Thirumalai was a student in a city college. Karan plays the role of a college student and the film is about the trials and tribulations he undergoes and how he overcome them with the help of his friends.

A comeback: Karan has made a dramatic re-entry with "Kokki" after a gap of two years. He did not accept any roles during this period and this pushed him into the category of "fading actors". The film "Nammavar" was shot him into the limelight and he says he has gained the confidence of taking on any role as a villain, a character actor and even a hero and this confidence one would get only after acting in a dozen films. He decided to come out of the circle within which he confined himself. The role of hero in "Kokki" came his way after a two-year wait
