Kerala is highly cine literate: Sharmila Tagore
Dec 11, 2009 NRThiruvananthapuram, Dec.11 (NR): Speaking at the Inaugural function of the 14th IFFK, Censor Board chairperson Sharmila Tagore said that she admired Kerala for its high cine literacy.
Sharmila talked at length about the changing face of Indian cinema. She said she was too 'small' to talk about a legend like Mrinal Sen who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award during the event.
However she also suggested that appreciation of the works of the masters should take the form of renovating the master prints of their classic films, most of which were in the ruins.
Her difficulty in pronouncing Thiruvananthapuram was amusedly received by the audience.
