'Malarvadi Arts Club' starts at Kochi

Cochin, Mar.4 (NR): 'Malarvadi Arts Club' that marks the directorial debut of actor-singer Vineeth Sreenivasan started at Kochi.


The pooja ceremony of the film that was held at BTH Sarovaram was attended by several prominent film personalities.


Actor Sreenivasan was beaming with pride when he said that he was often asked if Vineeth would become more famous than him. Sreenivasan said that Vineeth's aims should even be higher than that.


Megastar Mammootty described Vineeth as an individual who held high promise. He also said that the arts and sports club movement holds a nostalgic place in the hearts of people belonging to an older generation.


Vineeth said that the film has been set in a village called Manassery and tells the story of five friends who run the Malarvadi Arts Club. Vineeth also said that it has taken him about one and a half years to complete the script.


The film would have five new male faces along with two fresh female faces. Jagathy Sreelumar, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Salim Kumar and Suraj Venjarammoodu form the supporting cast.


'Malarvadi Arts Club' is being produced by actor Dileep under the banner of Grand Productions.
