Mammootty does a double role in Anwar Rasheeds Annan Thambi

Mammootty is to play a dual role in Annan Thambi, the forthcoming film by director Anwar Rasheed. The director who had made his debut with Rajamanickam, the enormously successful Mammootty-starrer, then directed Mohanlal in Chotta Mumbai and is now on to his third project Annan Thambi, in which Mammootty plays the dual role of two brothers.

The film, which is being scripted by Benny P. Nayarambalam, will be produced by Shahul Hameed Marikkar and Anto Joseph under the banner of Marikkar Films. The film is likely to start rolling in January next year and is slated for a Vishu (April) release. Annan Thambi will be shot mostly in Pollachi. Though more details are awaited, it is learnt that script-work is nearing completion.
