Mammootty in Akku Akbar's Thappana

Superstar Mammootty is to do the lead role in Thappana, Akku Akbar's new venture after the hugely successful Veruthe Oru Bharya.

Mammootty plays the role of Ganapathy, an elephant owner. It will be actor Jayaram's elephant that will appear in the film. The moot question is: Will it be the pachyderm that will steal the show, or will it be the mega star?

Reji Nair provides the story and the screenplay for the film. The last time he worked on a Mammootty film was on the script for Pattalam. Thappana, produced by Anto Joseph, speaks about the relationship between elephants and men. More details regarding the cast and crew are awaited.
