Mammootty, Meera, Nerein – Casting coup?

Mammootty, Meera Jasmine and Narein together? A casting coup indeed! The man who makes this possible is director Shyamaprasad of Agnisakshi fame, in his forthcoming film Ore Kadal. To be scripted by Shyamaprasad himself, the film will have Mammootty playing the role of an economist. Narein, who had earlier acted with Meera Jasmine in Achuvinte Amma (he was then known as Sunil), has become very popular in Malayalam after the run away success of Classmates, and in Tamil after Chithiram Pesuthadi.

He has a key role in Shyamaprasad's film. Ore Kadal, produced by Vindhyan under the banner of Rasika Entertainments, features cinematography by Azhagappan and music by Rahul Raj. The film, which is scheduled to start rolling in March, delves into the realm of relationships. Shyamaprasad, who is at present President (Programmes) at Amrita TV, had made his last film titled Akale, based on Tennessee Williams' Glass Menagerie and is considered to be a votary of serious, meaningful cinema.
