Mammootty says politics not his cup of tea

Thiruvananthapuram, March 22 (IANS) Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who considers himself a "liberal Leftist", has said that he was neither interested in entering politics nor predicting the election results as he is a busy actor and not a politician.

"Astrology is not my business and since I am not into politics, I will refrain myself from saying something that I don't know. Ask me about my profession and I will reply," Mammootty told IANS over phone from Kochi when asked about his views on the coming Lok Sabha polls.

"Let it be over and I will tell you," he added on a lighter note.

Questions are often raised about the superstar entering politics as he is the chairman of Kairali TV, a channel promoted by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).

Mammootty, who is busy shooting for family entertainer "Daddy Cool" in Kochi, said three of his films are ready for release and he is equally upbeat about all three.

"'Pazhazzi Raja', 'Patanthil Bhootham' and 'Kutti Shranku' are all different in treatment and the audience can expect a good experience. Similarly, my hands are full for the rest of the year too. So right now I am fully occupied and I do not have the time to think of anything else," Mammootty said.
