Mammootty to do lead role in 'Handsome'

Handsome – that's going to be the name of one of Mammootty's forthcoming films. The film, which will have Mammootty in the lead, will be directed by Gireesh, who has worked as an associate with prominent filmmakers like Shyamaprasad and Lal Jose.

Handsome is planned as a thriller, with Bangalore, the IT hub of India, as the backdrop. Mammootty will play the role of an IT professional named Vaishakh. The debutant director will also be penning the story and the screenplay for the film, which is to be produced by Hussain of Microcoms who produced of the well-received Arabikatha. The film is likely to start rolling in March and be released by mid-2009. More details are awaited.
