Mammootty's 'Maayavi' a mega Malayalam hit

Kochi, April 6 (IANS) "Maayavi" continues to rake in the moolah in these pre-Vishu days and tops the fortnight's list of Malayalam films. The lack of serious competition is helping the film further.

The top five Malayalam films are:

1. "Maayavi" - This is one of the biggest Mammootty hits in recent times. Directed by Shafi, the film has stayed on top for months.

2. "Payum Puli" - Actor Kalabhavan Mani's 'masala' fest directed by Mohan Kupleri occupies the second place in this list.

3. "The Speed Track" - Dileep's sports saga made by a new director Jayasurya continues to be in the race.

4. "November Rain" - This is a film on the underworld made by an ambitious team of youngsters headed by director Vinu Joseph.

5. "Anandabhairavi" - Veteran director Jayaraj returns with the offbeat theme of a kathakali artiste and his relationship with his prodigiously talented son. Sai Kumar has won the second best actor state award for his performance in this film.
