Mammooty has a busy day in 'jail'

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 29 (IANS) Ace superstar Mammooty had a busy day Friday shooting in the premises of the Thiruvananthapuram Central Prison, here.

Mammooty was shooting for his new film "Pothanvava" which is being directed by veteran filmmaker Joshi. Mammooty plays the male lead in this film, which also stars popular pop singer Usha Uthup.

Speaking to IANS in between shots the actor said he plays the role of a spoiled brat.

"I am enjoying as I always do on all sets. This film is different in more ways than one," said the actor.

During breaks Mammooty obliged a large number of policemen by posing with them.

"See this is the problem with cellphones with camera," he joked to a policeman.

Later, he obliged the state director general of police by agreeing to meet the prisoners.

"Yes, I would go inside and meet the prisoners. But I don't think you would be allowed," Mammooty chuckled.

Gopika plays the female lead. The cast includes Nedumudi Venu, Rajan P. Dev, Sphadikam George, Bijukkuttan, Maniyan Pilla Raju, Kunjan, Sai Kumar, Augustine, Kalabhavan Rahman, Narayanankutty, Ponnamma Babu and Nisha.

The script for the film is by Benny P. Nayarambalam. Sanjeev Shanker is the cinematographer.
