Martial expert waits for invite to Jackie Chan's film premiere
Nov 19, 2005 IANSThiruvananthapuram, Nov 19 (IANS) Kerala's martial arts exponent, who fought the legendary Jackie Chan in his latest film "The Myth", is waiting eagerly for an invitation to the film's Mumbai premiere to be held Monday.
G. Satyanarayanan, 44, wants to be alongside Chan at the premiere, who will be present for the special event in Mumbai.
"So far I have not received any intimation but I hope to get a call from the film company UTV," Satyanarayanan told IANS.
Satyanarayanan is an instructor at the prestigious CVN Kalari institute here which provides training in martial arts.
Satyanarayanan has a five-minute one to one fight sequence with Chan in the film "The Myth." He was in China for over a month shooting alongside Chan in July 2004.
Roped in by Chan's production team after they identified him as one of the finest exponents of Indian martial arts, he played the role of Prince of Sadai in the film.
"I am told that the film has undergone a lot of cuts and the Indian part of the film has been sliced from 40 minutes to 20 minutes. Even Mallika Sherawat appears in the film for just nine minutes," added the veteran martial art exponent.
