Kochi, Aug 9 (IANS) New songs from "Keerthi Chakra" and "Kalabham" make it to the top five list this fortnight.

The top five Malayalam songs are:

1. "Mukile mukile" - Film: "Keerthi Chakra"; Music: Joshua Sridhar; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry; Singer: M.G. Sreekumar. This song has been playing on the channels for a while now and is on everyone's lips.

2. "Snehikkan" - Film: "Kalabham"; Music: Raveendran; Lyrics: S. Rameshan Nair; Singers: K.J. Yesudas and Manjari Hari. The recently released film may not have made it to the list of top five films, but this song, composed by the late Raveendran, is enthralling music lovers.

3. "Kaveri nadiye" - Film: "Keerthi Chakra"; Music: Joshua Sridhar; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry; Singers: Karthik and Asha Menon. The songs of this film may not have helped the narrative, but they are here on individual strength.

4. "Kalabham tharam" - Film: "Vadakkumnathan"; Music: Raveendran; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry; Singers: K.S. Chitra and Biju Narayanan. The finesse in Raveendran's compositions keeps his popularity alive.

5. "Aattinkarayorathu" - Film: "Rasathantram"; Music: Ilayaraja; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry; Singer: Manjari. When a song is heard as a ring tone on so many cell phones, its place in this list is assured.
