Nayan turns 27; looks ahead to Bollywood

Chennai, Nov.18 (NR): Nayantara, the heart throb of millions of South Indians, turns 27 today. A native of Thiruvalla, Diana Kurian was rechristened by Malayalam director Sathyan Anthikkadu as Nayantara in her debut film 'Manassinakkare', six years back.

After having acted in some significant Malayalam films opposite all the Super stars of Malayalam cinema, Nayantara soon moved over to Kollywood, where she gave tough competition to the then ruling queen Trisha with her debut film in Tamil, 'Ayya' opposite Sarath Kumar. She then went on to do several Tamil films including blockbusters as 'Chandramukhi', 'Ghajini', and 'Sivaji'.

She also starred in several Telugu movies as 'Boss', 'Lakshmi' and 'Yogi' most of which were runaway hits. The actress now plans to move on to Bollywood, and would hopefully be making her Hindi debut in the coming year.
