Playback singer K.P. Brahmanandan passes away

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 10 (IANS): Veteran Malayalam playback singer K.P. Brahmanandan died Tuesday at the age of 58.


He died in his residence at Kadakavoor near Thiruvananthapuram. He is survived by his wife and two children.


Brahamanandan, who began his career way back in 1969, sang more than 150 film songs and held about 2,000 music concerts.


All through his career, he had to play second fiddle to singers like K.J. Yesudas and Jayachandran.


After leaving the film industry, he was associated with a music troupe called Old is Gold. His son Rakesh is an upcoming singer.
