Prithviraj in Major Ravis next

Prithviraj in Major Ravi's next

Jun 26, 2009 NR

Cochin, June.26 (NR): Prithviraj will be doing the lead role in the next film by Major Ravi, who earlier had served in the Indian Army as a commando. Major Ravi had associated with reputed directors like Priyadarshan before debuting as a director himself with the children's film 'Punarjani' (featuring Mohanlal's son Pranav in the lead role).

Ravi then forayed into directing feature films, with 'Keerthichakra' based on the anti-terrorist operations in the Kashmir valley as the first venture. The film, which had Mohanlal in the lead, was a hit. Ravi then directed Mammootty in 'Mission 90 Days' (a film that had Rajiv Gandhi's assassination as the backdrop, and which didn't do too well at the box-office), and followed that up with another Mohanlal-starrer 'Kurukshetra' (which had the Kargil war as the backdrop).

Major Ravi's Prithviraj-starrer, will however not be a film based on war or the army in any way. Titled 'Maadan Kolly', the film will be a mix of fantasy and horror, and will be produced by P. Rajan under the banner of Vaishakha Films. Maadan Kolly is based on script by Sunil Parameshwaran, and will feature cinematography by Thirru.
