Priyadarshans Rakilipaattu to be released finally?!

It is reported that the Priyadarshan-directed all-women-cast film Rakilipaattu is finally slated to be released this month. The film, which is produced by Mukesh R. Mehta, has been lying in the cans for about seven years. It will finally find its way to theatres reportedly on the 15th of February. The most interesting feature about the film is that there is no male member in the cast and the all-woman cast includes Jyothika, Tabu, Ishitha Arun, Lakshmi, Manorama, Shrabani Mukherjee, Sukumari etc.

Rakilipaattu tells a very colourful story with the campus as the backdrop and the plot also includes a murder thread that takes the story forward. Jeeva cranks the camera for the film, which features art-direction by Sabu Cyril. The songs penned by Jayakumar and Girish Puthencherry and set to tune by Vidyasagar had topped the charts earlier itself, but the Tamil version titled Snehithiye proved to be a flop. Surya Cine Arts Release will finally bring the film to 30 releasing centres on the 15th of February. All the best, Priyan and team!
