'Rajamanickam' set to go to Sandalwood

The Anwar Rasheed-directed blockbuster movie Rajamanickam, with Mammootty in the lead is to go from Mollywood to Sandalwood (the name given for the Kannada film industry). The remake of Rajamanickam will have the highly popular Vishnuvardhan in the lead. In fact it would be the Kannada super-star's 199th film.

To be produced by Manju and directed by Dinesh Babu, the film will also have other popular Kannada stars in the cast. Earlier it was announced that Vishnuvardhan's 199th film would be a remake of the old-time Hindi movie Biwi O Biwi and would be titled Naane Bere Nanna Styleeye Bere, but plans were later changed. Dinesh Babu stepped in and the story of Rajamanickam was chosen as the subject.
