Rajeev Nath bases his Ezhaam Mudrain Srilanka
Sep 25, 2007 NRNoted director Rajeevnath, who made the widely acclaimed Janani, and whose last venture was Moksham, is all set to make a new film titled Ezhaam Mudra, with Sri Lanka as the backdrop. It will have Suresh Gopi and Bollywood actress Mandira Bedi in the lead roles.
The film, which will start rolling in October and will have some portions shot in Sri Lanka, will tell the story of an Indian diplomat-turned restaurant owner, who helps his friend and his lover, both Tamil separatists fighting for their cause against the Sri Lankan Government, to escape.
It is not the director's intention to either support or decry the Tamil separatist movement. His concern is with the human drama. Ezham Mudra will attract much critical attention since it will also be Rajeevnath's adaptation of the 1942 Classic Casablanca. More details about the cast and crew are awaited.
