Ranjith brings in 10 directors in 'Kerala Café'
May 27, 2009 NRCochin, May.27 (NR): Scenarist-turned-director Ranjith, who recently forayed into acting too, is now attempting something that's new in Malayalam. His forthcoming 'Kerala Café' will see ten prominent directors come together for the first time in Malayalam.
Lal Jose, Shaji Kailas, Anwar Rasheed, Shyamaprasad, B.Unnikrishnan, Revathy, Anjali Menon, M.Padmakumar, Shankar Ramakrishnan and Uday Ananthan would be the ten directors who'd be directing ten different stories which would be knit together in 'Kerala Café', for which Ranjith would be the Creative Producer. The film will be produced under the banner of Capitol Theatres. Each of the ten directors would be directing a story, each of which would have a duration of ten or fifteen minutes. These stories would be presented in such a way that they would all be knit together. Though this is new to Malayalam, this is not new to Indian Cinema. 'Dus Kahaniyan', 'Darna Zaroori Hai' etc represent this genre. 'Kerala Café', to start rolling in June, will have in the cast Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Prithviraj, Kalabhavan Mani, Nedumudi Venu etc and is likely to get released by September.
