Kochi, April 19 (IANS) New Malayalam films that hit theatres in the wake last week's Vishu festival have shuffled the top slots this fortnight.

The top five Malayalam films are:

1. "Rasathantram" - Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine are paired together for the first time in Satyan Anthikad's film and the magic they bring to the screen makes it a sure winner at the box office.

2. "Thuruppu Gulan" - Johnny Antony directs Mammootty in this comic caper. It is still early to say whether this film will repeat the success of "Rajamanikiyam", but the first couple of days have seen good crowds in the theatres.

3. "Pachakuthira" - Dileep plays a double role in the film directed by his mentor Kamal. The highlight of this successful film is Dileep donning the role of a mentally challenged person with a getup that renders him unrecognisable.

4 "Rashtram" - A contemporary political thriller starring Suresh Gopi and directed by Anil C. Menon, the film has all the masala - spice - fans can wish for.

5. "Chintamani Kola Case" - This is a legal thriller directed by Shaji Kailas, again starring Suresh Gopi. Here, Gopi plays a lawyer and punishes his guilty clients after getting them freed from the court of law.
