'Runway' music holds sway among Malayalam films

Kochi, July 2 (IANS): "Runway" is ruling the Malayalam cinema music charts, with two songs from the film making it to this list of top five:

1. "Runway" - Targeted at the youth, the song "Shaba shaba" from the movie has hit bull's eye. Suresh Peters' catchy music has made youth sway to its beats.

The lyrics are by Gireesh Puthenchery. The singers are Afsal and Sunitha Sarathhy.

2. "Chathickatha Chandu" - The unique filming of the song "Hosaina" from this movie, spoofing films like "Titanic", "Gladiator" and "Chemeen" have made it a big favourite.

The music is by Alex Paul and the lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery. Afsal and Sujatha have rendered the song.

3. "Runway" - This film makes it to the top five again, thanks to the song "Osalama". The music is by Suresh Peters and the lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery.

Karthik lends his voice to the song. This is a trademark Suresh Peters song with a Tamil influence. It makes you jive with the tune.

4. "Vismayathumbathu" - The lilting quality in the song "Konji konji" from this supernatural thriller has brought back the poetic charm into film music. Yesudas' voice does it full justice.

The music is by Ouseppachan and the lyrics by Kaithapram.

5. "Aparichithan" - The chirpy song "Masam" has entered the charts even as the pre-release hype of this Mammootty-starrer is reaching its crescendo.

The music is by Suresh Peters and lyrics Gireesh Puthenchery. The song has been rendered by Jyotsna, Renjini Jose and Suresh Peters.
