Rustic 'Mayilattam' regales audiences - Malayalam Boxoffice

Kochi, Aug 1 (IANS): "Mayilattam" heads the list of Malayalam films. Here are the top five:

1. "Mayilattam": This V.M. Vinu film has superstar Jayaram in a double role. Shot in Pollachi, it has a rustic charm that has found favour with the audience.

2. "Aparichithan: The Stranger": It seems that Mammootty's stars are changing. This is the third box-office success among his last four releases. No wonder he is the busiest actor in the industry these days.

3. "Wanted": This is the latest in a list of youth-oriented films to hit the theatres. Directed by debutant Murali Nagavally, it also boasts of having Mohanlal in an over-stretched guest appearance.

4. "Manjupoloru Penkutty": This film is a real surprise from director Kamal, who has in recent years made some flamboyant films. Compared to them, this film is subdued. It probes the psychological trauma suffered by a teenaged

girl.

5. "Runway": This Dileep film is counting its days at the box office. With a number of new films lined up for release in the coming weeks, it will have a tough time staying on the top five list.
