Salim Kumar lashes out against Ranjith

May 23, 2011 NR

Cochin, May.23 (NR); Actor Salim Kumar, who bagged the National Award and State Award for Best Actor, for his performance in 'Adaminte Makan Abu', has lashed out against director Ranjith.

Ranjith had commented that Mammootty's performance in 'Pranchiyettan and the Saint' was much better than Salim Kumar's performance. He had also asked if the award was being given to the performance of the actor or to the tragic shades of a character.

Salim Kumar has reacted against Ranjith's comments against National Award Jury member JP Dutta. Ranjith had referred to J P Dutta as Bollywood's Major Ravi. Salim asked what was the logic behind Major Ravi being unnecessarily being dragged into this controversy. He also asked if Ranjith could take a film shot that Dutta was capable of filming. He also reminded that Dutta was the man behind several patriotic films as 'Border', 'Refugee' and so on.

Salim also said that Ranjith's behavior was similar to that of a beggar who would come begging to a house, and who would rebuke the inhabitants of the house, when denied alms.

The actor also said that it was ironic when Ranjith says that his film would have got an award if K G George was in the jury. Because the very same Ranjith has earlier commented that his film 'Nandanam' was denied an award, because K G George was a jury member.

Ranjith is yet to react to Salim Kumar's statements. Click the Movie button below for more info:
