Cochin, July.19 (NR): Sasikumar, who has earned for himself a reputation as one of the leading media personalities in India, plays a key role in 'Loudspeaker', the Malayalam film directed by Jayaraj.

Sasikumar, the founder-chairman of the Asianet Channel, is not new to films. He had played the lead role in the Chintha Ravi-directed offbeat movie 'Iniyum Marichittillatha Nammal' and had also directed a movie in Hindi called 'Kayataran'.

Sasikumar, who is now the director of the Asian School of Journalism in Chennai, plays a key role in 'Loudspeaker', alongside Mammootty. His character is that of Menon, a rich NRI who returns to his native village after a long period of time. Menon is a good friend of Mike Chacko, the central character played by Mammootty.

It was reportedly Mammootty who suggested Sasikumar for the role. Jayaraj, who has a penchant for making actors out of people who basically are not actors (Lal, I.M. Vijayan, Ranjith etc are examples), thought it was a good idea. Shoot for 'Loudspeaker' is in progress. Click the Movie button below for more info:
