Seethakalyanam finally to hit screens
Jul 27, 2007 NRGrapevine has it that Seethakalyanam, the T.K. Rajeev Kumar-directed Jayaram-starrer, is finally going to hit screens before Onam. The film, with an impressive array of artists in the cast, including Jyothika, Geethu Mohandas, Indrajith, Siddique, Jagadeesh, Sukumari, Janardhanan etc, had been shot almost four years back and has not yet managed to find its way to the theatres for various reasons.
Seethakalyanam narrates a series of happenings that take place during a traditional Brahmin marriage, which spans over a period of seven days. Shot in Thiruvananthapuram and Bangalore, the film also has the Late Oduvil Unnikrishnan in a key role. Music too has an important role to play in the film. Six songs, composed by Srinivas and penned by Beeyar Prasad, form the highlight of the film. Cinematography for the film is by noted cinematographer Rajiv Ravi.
It is to be remembered that T.K.Rajeev Kumar, who has given us impressive films like Chanakyan, Pavithram, Vakkaalaththu Narayanankutty and also the award-winning Jalamarmaram and the Hindi film Raja Ko Rani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya, had also been the Chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, during which tenure he had even conducted an audio release of the film, with none other than A.R.Rahman releasing the audios. Rajeev Kumar is also presently busy getting ready a Hindi film. Seethakalyanam is produced under the banner of Revathy Kalamandir.
