'Shaba Shaba' stays on top - Malayalam Top Music Albums
Jul 17, 2004 Paresh C. Palicha, IANS Jul 16Kochi, July 17 (IANS): "Shaba Shaba" continues to rule the Malayalam film music charts. Here's a look at the top five numbers:
1. "Shaba Shaba" - This song is from the film "Runway". The music is by Suresh Peters and lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery.
Shot in picturesque Thailand, with Dileep and Kavya Madhavan in the lead, the song rendered by Afsal and Sunitha Sarathhy is still going strong with the yuppie crowd.
2. "Hosaina" - This song is from the film "Chathickaatha Chandu". The music is by Alex Paul and lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery.
Afsal and Sujatha have rendered the song which spoofs films like the "Titanic", "Gladiator" and the Indian classic "Chemeen". The easy-to-hum quality of the song has made it a big favourite.
3. "Osalama" - From the film "Runway", this song has been composed by Suresh Peters. The lyrics are by Gireesh Puthenchery, and Karthik sings the number.
Leading lady Bhavana makes a special appearance. It has left the audience awestruck, because heroines hardly do item numbers in southern Indian films.
4. "Masam" - From the film "Aparichithan", this song has been composed by Suresh Peters. The lyrics are by Gireesh Puthenchery.
Jyotsna, Renjini Jose and Suresh Peters lend their voices to this chirpy song that has entered the charts even as the pre-release hype of this
Mammootty-starrer reaches a crescendo.
5. "Pranayagopura" - This too is from "Aparichithan". The music is by Suresh
Peters. The lyrics are by Gireesh Puthenchery. Sreenivasan and Sujatha have rendered the lilting love song.
