Shaji N Karun appointed as a member of the CBFC

Cochin, May.31 (NR): Shaji N. Karun, the renowned film maker who is known for his films like Piravi, Vanaprastham and Kutty Srank, has been appointed as a member of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

the Central Board of Film Certification is a Statutory body under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,and films can be publicly exhibited in India only after they have been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification.

The director will serve in the CBFC for three years. He has been appointed by the Information & Broadcasting Ministry.

Bharatanatyam dancer Leela Samson is the Chairperson of CBFC, and other members of CBFC include Amal Allana, Anjum Rajabali, Arundhati Nag, M.K. Raina, Mamang Dai, Dipesh Mehta and Ira Bhaskar.
