Star singer on the bigscreen - Suresh Gopi to lead

Star Singer - that's the name of a very popular reality show on a Malayalam television channel. And now Star Singer comes to the big screen too. It's hit-making director Viji Thampy who is going to make a film titled Star Singer, with Suresh Gopi donning the lead role.

The film with television reality shows as the background, will have in the cast noted artists like Jagathy Sreekumar, Harisri Ashokan, Vasundhara Das etc plus many new youngsters, who will be taken in after screen tests to be held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.

A notable thing about the film is that it would feature script written jointly by five new scenarists - Joseph, Harikumar, Sreenath, Indrajith and Riyaz. The songs too will have something new. There will be five songs, for which the makers have roped in five lyricists and five music directors - all popular ones. The five lyricists are Gireesh Puthencherry, Shibu Chakravarthy, Yusuf Ali Kechery, Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma and Kanesh Punoor, while the five music directors are Ouseppachan, M. Jayachandran, Alex Paul, Mohan Sithara and Deepak Dev. The film will be produced under the banner of Hilltop Creations by Salim Hilltop, the producer of Kichamani MBA.
